About Mr. Avinash Shirode
Avinash Shirode is a member of the NSS Board of Directors and is President of the NSS-Nashik India chapter, which he founded in 2016. He is Space Scientist having worked for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and is currently working in various fields of engineering by developing innovative ideas. He has been conducting programs of awareness for educational and career opportunities in space technology for students and developments in space exploration and settlement for the general public. His chapter has received awards from NSS consecutively for the last 4 years and has been an active participant in the annual World Space Week event. He is a multifaceted innovative engineer working in ten different disciplines of Engineering and has received several patents, felicitations and recognitions for his innovative work.
Mr. Avinash Shirode, born in 1948, A Multifaceted and versatile personality is:
- A Civil Engineer by Graduation from College of Engg. Pune (1970)
- A Structural Engg. by post graduation from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (1972),
- An Aerospace Engineer by employment in Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, ISRO, Trivandrum in SLV-3 project,
- An Architectural Engineer by profession for Sugar, Textile & industrial projects, some are WORLD BANK projects
- A Software Engineer by developing various computer software packages for R.C.C. & structural designs, estimates, construction management etc.
- An Electrical & Mechanical Engineer by Research in "Low RPM Low Wind velocity aero-generator" for Domestic Windmill to generate electricity for household purpose at as low as 4 RPM & wind speed of 0.6 m/s and recipient of several awards and felicitations & Patent by Govt. of India
- An Automobile Engineer by research & experiments on running a car by wind energy,
- An Agricultural Engineer by research & experiments in developing agricultural equipments and also achieving highest yield of wheat per acre just by observations & little experiments at absolutely no extra expenses,
- A Pharmaceutical Engineer by research & experiments on the medicinal properties of Rudraksha fruit skin, leaves, flowers & scalp for diabetic patients,
- Giving spiritual lectures on “Theory of Karma – you are the author of your own Destiny”
- Designated as “Space Ambassador” by National Space Society (USA), first from India and 8th in the World
- Elected as Director on the National Space Society (USA) Board of Directors, the first from India to be on the NSS Board
